Sensitive Word/Expression Information

Companies House class some words, which are included in the Company Registration name, as sensitive words.

Our system automatically checks for sensitive words in your Company Formations name and then informs you of this, should you not notice them.

Some words only require some additional information to accompany the application and some words require special permission from various institutes etc.

Requirements for the word(s) (health visitor):

This word or expression needs the approval of the Secretary of State.

If you want to use it in your company name you will need to write first to the relevant body to ask if they have any objection to its use.

When you apply for approval to use the name you should tell Companies House that you have written to the relevant body and enclose a copy of the reply you have received.

Many enterprise trust companies are limited by guarantee, possibly charitable, set up to support the community by, for example, providing advice on business start up, providing opportunities for training and development, removing barriers to further education etc. The company’s articles must include a non-profit distribution clause and you should also obtain the views (letter or email) of a relevant body such as a local authority or Chamber of commerce. If the company is limited by shares it should be similar to and meet the requirements of a financial or investment trust.
Family trusts vary but examples include trusts set up by a family member to hold funds in trust for young children or one linked to a property where a family member will become the beneficiary. The company should be limited by guarantee and include a non-profit distribution clause in the articles of association. The articles should reflect the purpose of the trust which should also be identified in the company name.

This company is justified in using the word FEDERATION as this is a Limited by Guarantee company and each member will have one vote and the constitution will contain a non-profit distribution clause in the Memorandum and Articles. This provides that any profits will be used to further the objects of the company and not be paid to the members as dividends.
