What is a Certificate of Good Standing?

A Certificate of Good Standing confirms that your company is in good standing with Companies House, it is an official document which is obtained from the authorities in the UK. The Certificate confirms that your company has been in continuous unbroken existence, has filed all the yearly requirements and confirms that your company is not in the process of being struck off or liquidated.

The Certificate confirms the company name, company number and date of incorporation and also confirms that your company exists on the Company Register. You also have the option to include additional details of your company, including:

• Directors – Name, Address, Date of Birth
• Secretaries – Name, Address
• Registered Office Address

You are able to specify what information you would like on the Certificate when in the process of placing your order.

If you urgently require the Certificate, we recommend that you order the Expedite Service which usually takes around 1-2 working days.
If you choose to order the Expedite Service, this should be ordered before 11:00GMT, otherwise your order may not be processed by the authorities until the next working day.

Do I need to Apostille my Certificate?

If the Certificate is not going to be used in the UK, but is going to be used in another country, then it is usually recommended that an Apostille is applied to the Certificate of Good Standing. An Apostille is a form of authentication which is applied to the Certificate so that it can be used in countries other than the UK.

The receiving party (could be an individual, business or government body) should then accept the document, as an official apostille has been affixed to the certificate. This will allow your documents to be used in other countries other than the UK without further evidence or proof required.

If you require an Apostille on your Certificate of Good Standing, please select this service from our Price List.
